Christopher Hwang, MD, PhD
After receiving a degree in mathematics from Dartmouth College, Dr. Hwang completed the Medical Scientist Training Program and received combined MD/PhD degrees at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Hwang completed an intern year at Christiana Care Hospital in Delaware and completed his ophthalmology residency at Scheie Eye Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. He then went to National Eye Institute at the National Institutes of Health to complete his fellowship in uveitis and ocular immunology/medical retina. He then completed his vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the Washington University in St Louis. Dr. Hwang joined Retina Consultants of Minnesota in 2022 and is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, American Uveitis Society, and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
